Values

In his Farewell Address, President George Washington wrote �Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable results��. President Washington enunciated what most American�s still hold true � the moral fabric of the United States is a critical component of our success.

When elected, I will continue to work to uphold and promote the traditional American values of liberty, self-reliance, and individual responsibility that have made America that �shining city on the hill�.

Common Sense Solutions:

Acknowledge that the Constitution is the bedrock on which our great nation was built. I believe that the Constitution is clear when it says that all those powers not enumerated to the Federal government are reserved to the states and the people. I will rely on the Constitution � and a variety of original sources (records of public debates, correspondence, etc.) � when making my decisions.

�   Protect innocent life from conception to death

�   Abolish the �marriage penalty� and other taxes that place an undue burden on families

�   Ensure that marriage remains defined as a relationship between a man and woman

�    Streamline the adoption process and support �freedom of conscience laws�

�   Work against all efforts to hinder First Amendment freedoms in the United States

�   Oppose all efforts that limit the rights of law abiding Americans to own guns

�    Require Congress to specify the source of authority under the United States Constitution for the enactment
     of laws (H.R. 450)
