Budget and Spending
As a financial advisor, I am consistently counseling my clients to live within their means and save for the future. Unfortunately, our government doesn't live by the same common sense principles that you and I live by. Government spending is out of control. We are facing a $9 trillion deficit and $11 trillion in debt. The amount of debt we are saddling our children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews with is unconscionable. At this time, government spending represents approximately 45% of our nations gross domestic product. That level of spending is unsustainable and it must stop.
Common Sense Solutions:
- Replace the current tax code with the FAIR TAX
- Limit growth in spending to the rate of inflation
- Balanced Budget Amendment
- Lower the payroll tax
- Lower the corporate income tax
- Reduce or eliminate capital gains taxes
- Eliminate all earmarks
- Repeal the Alternative Minimum Tax
- Require that any bill creating a new federal agency or program eliminate an outdated agency or program
